Mountable Binoculars

Hunters and observers alike have their own preferences and features they look for when purchasing the right pair of top-rated binoculars. Especially important features include magnification, objective lens, field of view, durability and functionality.

Mountable binoculars are standard-size binoculars that come with the option to stabilize them on a mounted tripod. The tripod is specifically made for use with the mountable binoculars, which usually screw or slide onto the mount to reduce movement when using the viewfinder.

Mountable binoculars are an easy way to help stabilize an enhanced view. With strong magnification, quality glass inside the binocular to produce sharper visuals and durable bodies that can withstand weather, they are ideal for both observation and hunting.

Mounted binoculars are not as easy to move around as handheld binoculars. If you are hunting for a quick-moving animal, following a trail or wandering for a prime hunting spot, taking the time to set up your mounted binoculars is going to take too long.

When patiently waiting or observing from a single location, the mounted binoculars help keep your view from becoming shaky or disturbed with movement. Also, when viewing the same area for long periods of time a binocular mount will save both arm and eye strain.

One of the most important features to look for with a mountable binocular is the objective lens. Your objective lens should be larger for a binocular that is mounted.

A higher objective lens, like a 42 or 50mm lens, will give the viewer a wider field of view. If a binocular is mounted to where you can’t easily move it, you need to be able to see more range within the viewfinder itself. Engage EDX 12x50 binoculars have an objective lens of 50 and are well balanced, making them ideal for multi-purpose use as well as our Forge 15x56s which bridge the gap between binocular and spotting scope.

To pick the right mountable binocular for your own use, consider weight so that you can easily carry and move it if relocating from spot to spot.

You can also consider durability. Look for a binocular that is waterproof so that if it is mounted in rainy or foggy weather, it will not rust or deteriorate.

Lastly, focus on what you will be hunting and how much magnification you need. For most mid-range hunting, a 4-6 range would be fine, and anything higher can work well as long-range binoculars.
