Increase Your Target Shooting Accuracy and Enjoyment With Bushnell Riflescopes

Range shooting is a very different animal than field hunting. Your target is often stationary, your accuracy is at its best, you have different field distractions, and you have a more controlled environment. Most importantly, you also have time on your side and can relax. Target shooting is your moment to focus on improving your accuracy and perfecting your aim. With the broad selection of Bushnell Riflescopes, you can find the best scopes for target shooting.

Your magnification capacity is going to make a huge difference in your ability to see your target. Consider the distance you’ll be shooting and the size of the target.

  • Short Range shooting distance is often under 40 yards
  • Mid-Range shooting distance is usually around 100-200 yards
  • Long Range shooting distance is often 200 to 1,200 yards, possibly more!

For short-range shooting, depending on your target size, lower magnifications down to 1x may be enough. But if you’re shooting a smaller target you may want to go much higher. For mid-range shooting you may want to start going even larger on the magnification. Target shooting at the range means your target isn’t moving usually, and you’ll likely be using sand bags and a bipod. For this setup you can go with a higher magnification. One of Bushnell’s best-selling riflescopes, the Match Pro 6-24x50 has a vast range with 6x-24x magnification.

The reticle you choose and the focal plane depends entirely on your needs and what you’re target shooting. If the ultimate in precision is what you’re after and at known distances, a reticle with a thinner crosshair and in the second focal plane may be just the ticket. If you’re need to change distances and hold over to compensate for drop, something like a tree reticle on the first focal plane might not only be desirable but a requirement.
